The Role:
This leadership position will see you working collaboratively with the Director of Residential Care and Clinical Governance to develop and implement the organisational strategic plan relevant to the Clinical Governance portfolio. Success in this role will require proven capability in overseeing and facilitating clinical education that supports excellence against ACQSC expectations; strengthening IPC management to ensure compliance and best-practice outcomes; planning and delivering improvement initiatives; implementing vaccination programs and clinical systems enhancements; and working collaboratively with your team and key stakeholders. Along with being responsible for providing effective leadership your accountabilities also include:

Leading and mentoring the Clinical Education & Infection Prevention and Control Manager, Clinical Governance Project Manager, and Clinical Governance Lead

Providing expertise in clinical governance, identification of risks and their mitigation to the Residential Care General Managers
- Working alongside the Quality and Compliance General Manager to implement quality improvement initiatives within the clinical governance framework

Overseeing, managing and facilitating clinical education across the organisation
-
Overseeing the Infection Prevention and Control portfolio and improvements
-
Supervising and supporting the management of Clinical Governance portfolios including vaccination programs, and client information management systems (eCase, BestMed and PainChek)

Mentoring and supporting the Clinical Governance team and Residential Care team in demonstrating compliance and improving services to meet and exceed the Aged Care Quality Standards

Preparing for Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission visits, including registration
- Working collaboratively with the Learning & Development Department in providing input into the Organisation’s training initiatives in the areas of clinical care and governance

Providing urgent on-call support as required
Our preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
-
Current RN registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in Aged Care
-
Master's and/or postgraduate qualifications in Education and Leadership
- Extensive leadership and management experience
-
Working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and implementation of the strengthened standards
-
Experience managing Aged Care Commission onsite visits and accreditation/registration
- Facilitating clinical education
- Expertise in Governance systems and risk mitigation and knowledge of IPC processes
- Proficient in the implementation of projects such as process and systems enhancements and roll outs

Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

You will have previous managerial experience with the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment. You will demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills and have a true passion for supporting a culture of continuous quality improvement, education, safeguarding, and compliance.
