Katsaros & Associates is an established and growing immigration law firm seeking an experienced Law Office Accounts Manager to join our team.
This is not a stepping-stone position. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with our firm and become an integral part of our operations.
The role will initially commence on a part-time casual basis (approximately 3-4 days per week), with a strong intention of transitioning to a permanent full-time position for the right person as the firm continues to grow.
About the Role
You will take ownership of the firm's financial administration and work closely with the Principal and Head of Legal Operations to ensure our accounting, trust accounting and financial systems operate to the highest professional standard.
This is a busy, fast-paced legal office where accuracy, organisation and initiative are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily management of solicitor's trust accounting
- Trust receipting and trust payments
- Daily trust reconciliations
- Monthly trust reporting
- Compliance with Legal Services Board and Uniform Law trust requirements
- General office accounting
- Xero bookkeeping
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Payroll assistance
- Monthly billing and invoicing
- Client payment management
- Financial reporting
- Monitoring cash flow
- Liaising with external accountants
- End of month procedures
- Assisting with budgeting and financial administration
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with office administration where required
Essential Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Previous experience working in a law firm
- Solid experience with solicitor's trust accounting
- Strong understanding of legal trust compliance
- Experience using Xero
- Exceptional attention to detail
- High level organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- Professional communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Initiative and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently
Highly Regarded
- Experience with legal practice management software
- Previous experience preparing trust examinations or assisting with trust audits
- Payroll experience
