Cairns Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to step into an exciting key leadership Consultant role on a permanent part-time basis. As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will have the opportunity to be active in a leadership role, including the development and provision of evidence-based clinical nursing, while working and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team across our Cardiac Catheter Lab department.
The opportunity also allows you to act as a clinical expert, professional role model and change agent to promote practice development and quality initiatives that promote the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality customer service.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset with the drive to succeed in a ward-based leadership role.
Your passion for client care and a high standard of customer-focused service will be matched by your ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. You will be required to role model best practice and provide clinical support to nursing staff, allied health staff and lived experience staff.
You will have exceptional customer service, strong communication and interpersonal skills and meet the following criteria:

Current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse

Minimum 5 years’ current experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting

Experience within a Cardiac Catheter Lab is essential

Ability to implement and provide education and training for clinical staff

Ability to assess, plan, co-ordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patients

Comprehensive knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to nursing practice, recovery orientated practice, national standards, and relevant frameworks including Safewards

Knowledge and experience in the implementation of service improvement and quality projects
-
Ability to provide clinical supervision
