Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Fleet Controller to join our road operations team based in Parkes, NSW! This is a hands-on logistics role responsible for coordinating daily freight movements, supporting drivers and ensuring customer delivery requirements are met safely and efficiently.
Reporting to the Road and Warehouse Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities:
- Coordinating daily pickups and deliveries to achieve service and customer KPI targets.
- Monitoring driver and vehicle activities to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Communicating regularly with drivers regarding schedules, changes, and delays.
- Ensuring all transport documentation, load sheets and operational paperwork are accurate and completed on time.
- Maintaining accurate fleet and freight information within SAP and other operational systems.
- Liaising with customers and internal stakeholders regarding freight movements and service updates.
- Coordinating vehicle maintenance requirements with the maintenance team.
- Monitoring compliance with fatigue management, mass management, vehicle inspections and legislative requirements.
- Promoting a strong safety culture through safety alerts and compliance activities.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in fleet control, transport scheduling, dispatch or logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of heavy vehicle compliance and transport regulations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
- Experience with SAP or transport management systems is highly regarded.
- Commitment to safety and customer service excellence.
