We are seeking a strong Employee Relations Partner to join our Amazon Australia operations team, to be based in either Sydney or Melbourne. The central objective of Amazon's global operations employee relations team is to ensure our organisation's treatment of employees is fair, respectful, and consistent with our framework of core business values and objectives. To support that objective, this position's responsibilities fall into proactive and reactive categories, focused on providing exceptional employee experience.
You will have deep subject matter knowledge, exceptional communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally on a wide range of employee relations initiatives.
This is a highly visible and varied role, working with senior operations leadership teams. The successful candidate will influence decision making and direct the business into the future.
This role will involve interstate travel up to 30%

This position requires full-time in-office presence 5 days per week at our Melbourne or Sydney CBD location.
Key job responsibilities
- Champion employee interests and build long-term relationships across diverse operational teams
- Partner with and influence Site Leaders and HR to design, implement, and sustain positive employee relations programs tailored to the Australian business environment
- Localise global ER tools, training, and communications for the Australian workforce
- Collect, analyse, and act on employee feedback and workforce data to proactively identify trends and resolve employee concerns
- Support Operations and HR with complex case management
- Deliver proactive employee relations training and communications across the business
- Lead large-scale, country-wide initiatives that elevate the overall employee experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law
- Experience analyzing HR data and translating metrics into actionable workforce strategies
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, SharePoint and PowerPoint
- An understanding of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and other State and Federal laws
- Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams
- Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- High-quality judgment and sound decision-making
