Employment Type: Casual/full time (approx. 35–38 hours/week)
Pay Rate: Restaurant Industry Award [MA000119] – Cook Grade 5 (Casual rate applies + Superannuation)
About Us
Kinoki Japanese Restaurant, located in Mango Hill, is a well-loved dining destination dedicated to serving high-quality, authentic Japanese cuisine. We are looking for an experienced and reliable Cook (Grade 5) to join and help lead our kitchen team!
1. Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking main Japanese dishes according to standard recipes and quality controls.
- Managing kitchen sections efficiently during busy service hours.
- Assisting with inventory checks and basic stock ordering.
- Supervising, training, and guiding kitchen hands and junior prep staff in food preparation and hygiene protocols.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and sanitation at all times.
2. Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in a commercial kitchen or Japanese restaurant environment strongly preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, excellent time management, and ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Attributes: Punctual, highly responsible, and attentive to food quality and hygiene.
- Work Rights: Valid Australian work rights (Citizen, PR, or eligible Visa holders).
3. Working Hours & Conditions
- Hours: Approximately 35–38 hours per week (Working hours and rosters are negotiable during the interview).
- Location: Kinoki Japanese Restaurant (Mango Hill / North Lakes area).
