We are seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented Lead Camp Services professional to oversee the daily operations of the Camp Services Department at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of integrated camp services, including Kitchen, Camp Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, Recreation, Water Bottling and Distribution, Transportation, and Camp Facilities.
Reporting to the Camp Services Superintendent, the Lead Camp Services will ensure that all camp operations are delivered in accordance with Company standards, contractual obligations, and audit requirements while fostering a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, safety, and exceptional customer service.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of Camp Services, ensuring the effective delivery of accommodation, housekeeping, laundry, catering support, transportation, recreation, water bottling and distribution, and camp administration services.

Execute the Camp Services Scope of Work (SOW) in accordance with Company policies, contractual agreements, and operational requirements, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) standards.

Support the implementation of short- and medium-term operational strategies to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and resource utilization.

Oversee the planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, procurement, and cost control of camp operations to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to approved budgets.

Supervise Camp Services personnel and contractors, ensuring high performance, compliance with service standards, and effective workforce planning.

Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), audits, inspections, and regular service reviews, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

Ensure camp facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained in a safe, functional, and presentable condition, coordinating maintenance activities with relevant departments.

Promote continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing operational processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency, and implementing best practices.

Coordinate training and development activities to strengthen employee capability, service quality, and compliance with Company standards.

Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and service providers to ensure effective coordination and customer-focused service delivery.

Prepare operational reports, budgets, performance analyses, and other management information to support informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and the effective management of Camp Services, while providing operational and administrative support to Camp Management as required.
The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations or a related field.

Minimum of 5-8 years' relevant work experience including 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role.

Valid Suriname Drivers’ license.

Experience developing and monitoring operational plans, service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and contractor performance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is an advantage.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic mining environment.

Thorough understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) requirements and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch; Mandarin is considered an asset.

Willingness to work at the Rosebel Gold Mines site, primarily in Brokopondo, on a rotational schedule of 14 consecutive working days followed by 7 consecutive days off, in accordance with operational requirements.

If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.

Based at the Rosebel Gold Mines operation and required to work primarily on-site within the camp and general services facilities.

Works in a combination of office and field environments, with regular inspections of camp accommodation, guest houses, kitchen, laundry, commissary, transportation, housing, and maintenance facilities.

Required to work a rotational mine-site schedule and may be required to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and public holidays, to support operational requirements, emergencies, and business continuity.

Regular interaction with employees, contractors, service providers, visitors, and multiple internal departments to coordinate the delivery of camp services.

Frequent walking throughout the camp and operational areas, including exposure to outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, noise, and moving vehicles and equipment.

Required to comply with all Company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) standards, policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements while on site.

Responsible for monitoring contractor performance and ensuring service delivery complies with Company standards, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.

Regular use of Microsoft Office applications, SAP, and other business management systems for planning, budgeting, reporting, workforce management, and operational performance monitoring.

May be required to travel between operational sites, company facilities, or supplier locations to support camp operations and service improvement initiatives.

Required to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment when handling operational, financial, and personnel-related information.
