The Drama Teacher is responsible for championing Secondary School Drama through delivering engaging and creative lessons to students in yrs 7-12. This role encourages the development of students’ confidence, communication, and performance skills through the art of drama.
The teacher will contribute to the overall curriculum by fostering a love for the Performing Arts and providing opportunities for students to participate in performances and other drama-related activities. This role supports the school’s mission of holistic education and personal development. This is a full-time position based predominantly at our Bondi Campus.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality drama lessons for middle school students, following the school’s curriculum and educational objectives.
- Encourage student creativity, self-expression, and collaboration through various drama techniques, including improvisation, role-play, and scripted performance.
- Develop lesson plans that cater to a wide range of abilities and learning styles, ensuring that all students are engaged and challenged.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where students feel confident to participate and explore their dramatic abilities.
- Organise and direct drama performances, both in-class and as part of larger school productions or events.
- Work closely with colleagues to integrate Drama into the broader secondary school curriculum, supporting interdisciplinary learning.
- Assess and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills and understanding of Drama.
- Stay up to date with current trends and developments in Drama education to ensure teaching methods and materials are relevant and engaging.
- Engage with the wider school community, including parents, to promote student participation in Drama and share their achievements.
- Participate in school events, professional development sessions, and meetings as required.
- Relevant Teaching & Drama qualification, incl. NESA accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Drama across the middle and senior years, including Stage 6 Drama and preparing students for the HSC.
- Experience of directing or organising school performances or productions.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification and registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
- Valid Working with Children Check.
