Swan Hill Rural City Council is looking for a motivated and community-minded Business Development & Tourism Officer to join our Economic and Community Development team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with local businesses, tourism operators, community groups, investors, and government agencies to support economic growth and make a real difference in our region.

About the Role
In this role, you will deliver Council’s economic development and tourism initiatives that encourage business growth, attract investment, increase visitation, and strengthen our local economy.
You will:
- Support local businesses and tourism operators by providing information, advice and referrals.
- Build strong relationships with businesses, industry groups, investors, government agencies and community organisations.
- Assist with economic development and tourism projects that create opportunities for the region.
- Help identify and secure grants, funding opportunities, and partnerships.
- Contribute to tourism, business, investment attraction, and destination marketing activities.
- Research and prepare business, industry, economic, and investment information.
- Assist with the implementation of Council's Economic Development Strategy and related action plans.
- Maintain business and economic development information on Council's website.
- Represent Council at industry meetings, networking events, and community forums.
- Use economic and demographic data to support business and investment opportunities.
- Some after hours and weekend work may be required by mutual agreement
What we are looking for
- Qualifications in Economics, Business, Marketing, PR or similar (or relevant experience)
- Experience supporting business development programs or projects
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Enjoys working with a wide range of people and organisations.
- Has strong research, administration, and problem-solving skills.
- Is passionate about helping communities and businesses thrive.

- Approximately $93,830 per annum + 15% superannuation
