About the Opportunity:
We currently have an opening for an Accountant based in Sydney, Australia. As a member of the Finance team and reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for performing overall accounting functions for our Australian subsidiaries, as well as providing administrative, office-related support for the APAC region. Overall, this role is primarily responsible for ensuring that all financial information is prepared, analyzed and reported on in an accurate and timely fashion.

NOTE: This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
Specific accountabilities include:
Accounting Duties
- Prepare and reconcile monthly general ledger accounts.
- Perform monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Ensure accounting records, supporting documentation, and files are organized, accurate, and up to date.
- Prepare and submit regulatory and government filings, including BAS and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with external advisors to support tax compliance and corporate income tax reporting.
- Assist with annual audit preparation and respond to auditor requests.
Support payroll-related payments and other finance activities as required.
Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely and accurate posting into Business Central.
- Prepare and process vendor payments, including electronic and online payment transactions.
- Review and verify corporate credit card transactions and employee expense claims.
- Support expense analysis and prepare periodic financial reports.
- Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Accounts Receivable
- Review and validate customer invoices.
- Record and apply customer payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and perform collection activities on overdue accounts.
- Prepare and distribute accounts receivable aging and collection reports.
- Maintain accurate customer account records and resolve payment discrepancies.
General Support
- Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities across other entities when required.
- Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with members of the global Finance team to support operational and reporting requirements.
About You:
- You have a degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience.
- Experience supporting accounting activities for multinational organizations, including international transaction, inter-company reconciliations, and foreign currency considerations, will be considered an asset.
- You are familiar with GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles)
- You are a self-starter and a problem solver who can prioritize your tasks effectively.
- You have an affinity with new software applications and learn quickly.
- You have experience with advanced accounting software, such as Business Central or similar.
- You have very strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- You have a high attention to detail and deliver accurate results.
- You are detail oriented and can effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- You are proficient with MS office, particularly Excel and Word.
- You work well both independently and as part of a team.
- CPA designation preferred.
