Working in tech at Australia Post is where innovation and problem solving meets great people and agile working. You’ll work with bright people on building and maintaining products and services that you and every other Australian get to benefit from every day. Whether you’re working from our modern office or your one at home, you’ll be part of a culture of collaboration and connection, making long-lasting impact right across Australia.
About the opportunity
Shape the future of secure technology at one of Australia’s most trusted organisations. As Senior Manager, Enterprise Security Architecture, you will lead the evolution of Australia Post’s enterprise security architecture practice, setting the strategy, standards and architectural patterns that enable secure, scalable and AI-driven technology delivery across the business.
Working at the intersection of architecture, engineering and cyber security, you will build a modern, automation-first function that provides clear risk visibility, accelerates decision-making and embeds security by design into every stage of delivery. Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Technology Architecture, with a dotted line to the CISO, you will play a pivotal role in lifting enterprise-wide security capability, advancing architecture-as-code and AI-assisted assurance practices, and helping Australia Post set the benchmark for secure engineering in the AI era.
This is a great opportunity to redefine how security architecture is delivered at scale, lead a high-impact transformation agenda, and influence the future of secure technology across one of Australia’s largest and most complex enterprises.
What you’ll deliver with us
Commercial & Strategic Priorities
- Own the enterprise security architecture strategy and roadmap, aligning to Post 30 priorities, E&TA strategy, and the Cyber Security strategy. Establishing a modern, scalable, AI-first architecture practice that operates as a strategic enabler across the enterprise.
- Lead the architecture assurance function as the first line of defense for security architecture quality, reviewing solution designs across project demand, exposing risk transparently, and enabling informed enterprise decisions rather than acting as a delivery gate.
- Shape the security architecture function to operate as a flexible, demand-driven pool, deploying architects across initiatives based on risk profile and complexity, with measurable and clear engagement models.
- Establish AI-first ways of working across the practice, AI-assisted solution review as the default, automated threat modelling, AI-driven pattern generation, and standards of authoring.
- Drive automation across the architecture lifecycle, including automated security pattern application in delivery pipelines, automated control validation, and architecture-as-code.
Financial
- Reduce delivery cost and rework across Lines of Business through reuse of validated security patterns, automated assurance, and repeatable architecture approaches that eliminate duplicated effort.
- Support investment prioritisation by providing risk-informed architecture insights, clear trade-off analysis, and transparent articulation of security value versus risk to inform enterprise capital planning.
- Optimise security tooling and licensing spend by rationalising duplicate capabilities, consolidating platforms, and prioritising investments based on risk, value, and strategic alignment.
About you
You are an experienced security architecture leader with a proven ability to build, lead and evolve high-performing teams within large, complex organisations. You bring deep expertise across security architecture, cyber strategy and enterprise technology, coupled with a collaborative leadership style that develops capability, drives accountability and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
You have strong knowledge of Zero Trust, cloud-first and secure-by-design principles, with practical experience across identity, cloud, application, network and data security. You are comfortable working with technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID, Auth0, CyberArk, SailPoint, AWS, Azure and GCP, and understand modern API and integration security approaches.
Most importantly, you are passionate about innovation and empowering teams to deliver at scale. You leverage AI, automation, architecture-as-code and policy-as-code to improve architecture assurance, accelerate decision-making and strengthen enterprise security outcomes, while coaching and enabling others to embrace modern ways of working.
