Team leader / 2IC – Via Fratelli, Malvern East
Via Fratelli is a family-style Italian restaurant in Malvern East, offering approachable, mid-range dining in a warm, hospitality-focused environment. We're looking for an experienced team leader to help lead our floor and support the smooth running of service.
Pay: $28–$36 per hour (upon discussion)
Hours: Casual With the possibility of permanent part time or full for the right candidat. 4 shifts per week (approx. 20–30 hours), happy to discuss what suits you
About the Role
As 2IC, you'll be a key part of our leadership team, supporting the Manager in day-to-day operations and stepping up to run service when needed. You'll take ownership of the floor, keep the team organised, and help deliver the warm, professional experience our guests expect.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support 3–5 casual waitstaff during service
- Manage weekly staff rostering
- Run functions and events (30–100 guests) — full training provided on function planning and coordination
- Step in as senior floor presence during busy services, ensuring smooth guest flow and team coordination
- Support day-to-day front-of-house operations
What We're Looking For
- Solid experience in front-of-house restaurant service
- Prior experience as a senior waiter strongly preferred
- Basic bartending and coffee-making skills a must
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm and lead a team during busy periods
- Weekend availability is essential
