An exciting opportunity has become available for a reliable and dedicated Village Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our dynamic team at our Bernborough Ascot village.
Located beside the iconic Doomben Racecourse, Bernborough Ascot is a vibrant community with beautifully maintained spaces that create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Everything here is designed to bring out the best in our team and our community.
In this role, you’ll focus primarily on the general upkeep of our grounds, while also assisting with maintenance tasks.
Approximately 50% of your time will be dedicated to Village grounds and 50% to general maintenance.
Your Responsibilities:
No two days are the same at Bernborough Ascot. You'll play an important role in ensuring our village remains safe, attractive, and enjoyable for residents to call home. Working alongside our experienced Maintenance Supervisor, you'll:
- Keep our beautifully maintained gardens, grounds and communal areas looking their best.
- Operate and care for a range of groundskeeping equipment and tools.
- Complete minor repairs and preventative maintenance around the village.
- Assist with pool care, village presentation and general site upkeep.
- Help deliver a safe environment by identifying and addressing maintenance issues.
- Support village events and occasionally drive our community bus.
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor with a variety of day-to-day maintenance and village improvement activities.
- Build positive relationships with residents while making a difference to their daily lives.
About You
You will bring experience as a grounds person, maintenance assistant, or a similar hands on role, along with the following:
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety
- Basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook, apps)
- Understanding of machinery and tools used in grounds and maintenance work
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and contribute to a team
- Internal training and onsite inductions will be provided.
