McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Civil & Infrastructure team.
This is a senior delivery role for an accomplished Project Manager who is ready to take full ownership of major, complex and/or multiple civil infrastructure projects, from pre-contract planning through to successful delivery and handover.
You’ll have accountability across project safety, programme, commercial and financial performance, quality and client outcomes, while leading and developing multidisciplinary project teams.

About the Role
Reporting to the Construction Manager/General Manager, you’ll lead projects from pre-contract and mobilisation through to construction, commercial close-out and handover.
This role comes with genuine ownership. You’ll be responsible for project P&L, forecasting, programme, resources, commercial strategy, risk, WHSEQ and client relationships, while leading the project team to achieve strong operational and commercial outcomes.
You’ll manage labour, plant, subcontractors, suppliers and materials, maintain disciplined project controls and work closely with internal commercial, finance, WHSEQ and operational teams.
You’ll also have opportunities to contribute during the pre-contracts phase, providing practical delivery input into tender strategy, construction methodologies, staging, programmes, pricing and subcontractor engagement.
What You’ll Do
- Lead major, complex and/or multiple civil projects from pre-contract through to completion.
- Take full ownership of project P&L, budgets, forecasting, cash flow and commercial performance.
- Develop and manage project programmes, resources, logistics and delivery strategies.
- Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and wider delivery teams.
- Manage contracts, variations, claims, commercial notices and project risk.
- Lead subcontractor and supplier engagement through delivery and commercial close-out.
- Identify risks and opportunities early and implement practical strategies to maximise project outcomes.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Maintain clear and timely project reporting to senior management.
- Lead strong WHSEQ performance and a visible, proactive safety culture.
- Support tender strategy, methodologies, staging, programming and pricing when required.
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and project controls.
What You’ll Bring
- Significant experience successfully managing the full lifecycle of civil construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience leading complex and/or multiple projects and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong P&L ownership and demonstrated commercial and financial management capability.
- Experience across contract management, variations, claims, forecasting and project controls.
- Strong understanding of construction planning, programming and resource management.
- Proven ability to identify and manage commercial, operational and project risk.
- Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring and developing project teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to think strategically while remaining close to day-to-day project delivery.
- Confidence working autonomously and making sound, best-for-business decisions.
