SkillQuest Solutions are seeking qualified and compassionate Disability Support Workers on behalf of our client, an established disability support provider delivering individualised care and support services across South Australia.
Providing a range of disability services, including assistance with daily living, personal care, supported independent living, household tasks, community participation and transport support, the business is committed to empowering participants to maintain their independence, dignity, choice and control. Due to ongoing service requirements, they are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join their dedicated team.
Position – Disability Support Worker
Location – Brahma Lodge, South Australia 5109
Salary - $80,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent
THE ROLE:
This role requires a compassionate and professional approach, with the ability to adapt to the individual needs, preferences and goals of each participant. You will assist participants with their daily activities, personal care and independent living needs while promoting choice, dignity, community participation and greater independence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Provide individualised, person-centred care and support in accordance with participants’ support plans, needs and preferences.
· Assist participants with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene.
· Support participants with mobility, transfers and the safe use of mobility aids where required.
· Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, household tasks, shopping and other routine activities.
· Support participants to develop and maintain independent living and daily life skills.
· Accompany and assist participants with appointments, community access, social activities and recreational activities.
· Provide companionship, emotional support and encouragement while promoting independence, dignity, choice and control.
· Observe and report changes in participants’ needs, health or wellbeing and maintain accurate support documentation.
· Work collaboratively with participants, families, colleagues and other relevant professionals to support positive outcomes.
· Maintain participant privacy, confidentiality and comply with support plans, workplace health and safety requirements and organisational policies.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· Relevant qualification, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or similar, or agreed equivalent.
· Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience providing disability or personal support services.
· Demonstrated experience assisting people with disability with personal care and daily living activities.
· Ability to provide respectful, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, choice and control.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families and colleagues.
· Ability to work independently ad effectively as part of a support team.
· A compassionate, patient and reliable approach with a commitment to providing safe and high-quality support.
· Flexibility to work across a range of shifts according to participant and service requirements.
· Current Australian driver’s license, NDIS Worker Screening Check and First Aid/CPR certification is highly desirable.
· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
WHAT IS ON OFFER:
