About the role
This is an independent contractor opportunity based at our Essendon practice. We are currently seeking a psychologist who is available to work approximately 1 day per week (currently a Friday or a Saturday), with flexibility around the preferred day and consulting hours.
You will have the opportunity to build a caseload that reflects your clinical interests, experience and preferred client presentations.
Our client base primarily includes children and adolescents presenting with a range of concerns, including anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural concerns, school-related difficulties, ADHD, autism and other neurodevelopmental presentations.
Consulting environment
You will work from a welcoming private practice environment in Essendon North, in a modern and comforting space. We aim to create an environment that is warm and supportive for both clinicians and young people.
Flexibility and caseload
As an independent contractor, you will have flexibility regarding your availability, caseload and clinical areas of interest. We are happy to discuss the types of referrals you prefer to accept and work collaboratively to develop a caseload that is a good fit for your experience and professional interests.
Additional requirements
Applicants will also need to hold or be willing to obtain:
- A current Working with Children Check
- An ABN
- A Medicare Provider Number for the practice location
- Appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance
Why join Empowering Young Minds?
At Empowering Young Minds Psychology, we are passionate about creating a warm, neuroaffirming and inclusive environment where young people feel safe, understood and empowered to be themselves. Our approach is strengths-based, client-centred and respectful of each young person’s individual identity, communication style and needs.
We have created a cosy, welcoming and child-friendly practice environment that feels less clinical and supports young people to feel comfortable engaging in therapy. We value authentic therapeutic relationships and provide clinicians with the flexibility to work in ways that are responsive to each client.
We value psychologists who want the autonomy and flexibility of private practice without feeling like they are working in isolation. You will be part of a supportive environment where collaboration and professional support are encouraged, while still having independence over your clinical work and caseload.
We welcome psychologists with established experience as well as clinicians who are newer to private practice but confident working independently with children, adolescents and families.
We offer a generous 70/30 contractor split, along with administrative support, established referral pathways and flexibility to develop a caseload aligned with your experience, interests and preferred areas of practice.
