About the Role:
We have a part-time 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 22.8 hrs per week) opportunity for an Administration Assistant to join our Workers Compensation team. Reporting to Manager Workers' Compensation and Injury Management you will be responsible for maintaining the administrative component of the department, providing exceptional customer service.
Working closely with site managers, employees, and Health and Safety teams across multiple sites, you’ll be a key point of contact and someone people rely on to stay organised and informed.
You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team where everyone works well together. Working from our Townsville office, you’ll be the first point of contact, so strong communication skills and a welcoming, professional approach are essential. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same.
Role Responsibilities:
As the administration Assistant to be able to work within the Self Insurance Performance Standards for claims and rehabilitation administration tasks which encompass:
- Provide customer service, administrative support and coordinate multiple appointments, conference calls and internal reviews
- Assist the Workers Compensation Claims Officer by uploading new claims and associated claim documentation
- Accurate processing and data entry of invoices, document management and supporting audits and internal reviews
- Maintain the Wilmar Sugar intranet site for Workers Compensation and Injury Management

We are looking for someone who brings:
Essential:
- Previous experience in an administrative or office support role preferably in areas of workers compensation, rehabilitation, insurance or legal administration
- Effective time management skills to allow you to effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Be able to work unsupervised and execute escalation processes
Desirable:
- Ability to learn and become proficient in the Self Insurance Management System
- Certificate III in Business Administration
- Experience supporting multiple teams or sites in an administrative capacity
