The opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Corporate Senior Underground Mine Engineer to join our Technical Services team at our corporate office in Subiaco, Perth. Reporting to the Principal Underground Mine Planning Engineer, this role will provide technical leadership, operational support and strategic guidance across Regis' underground mining operations.
Working closely with site leadership teams, technical services personnel and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in optimising mine performance, supporting long-term planning and driving continuous improvement initiatives across multiple underground operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled underground mining professional to make a meaningful contribution at a corporate level while supporting operational excellence, safety leadership and sustainable growth across the business.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Developing, reviewing and optimising medium and long-term underground mine plans to support safe and sustainable production outcomes
Providing technical expertise, mentoring and operational support to site-based engineering teams
Identifying opportunities to improve mine design, planning practices and operational performance
Supporting sites in the management and mitigation of mining risks through effective planning and engineering processes
Assisting with production forecasting, budgeting and cost optimisation initiatives
Ensuring mine plans and operational activities comply with relevant regulatory, environmental and safety requirements
Supporting the implementation of emerging technologies and innovative mining practices across operations
Collaborating with operational, geology, maintenance, environmental and safety teams to achieve business objectives
Engaging with contractors, consultants and regulatory stakeholders as required
- Contributing to talent development through mentoring and coaching of mining engineers across the business
Skills and Experiences:
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
A bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a related discipline
Demonstrated extensive underground mining experience, preferably within hard rock gold operations
Experience in underground mine planning and production optimisation
Advanced proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Surpac or Vulcan
Strong underground drill and blast design experience
Sound knowledge of Australian mining legislation and industry best practice
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building capabilities
A proactive approach to safety, risk management and continuous improvement
The ability to travel to operational sites across Western Australia as required
