AAA Teatowels Pty Ltd is an established commercial laundry and linen hire company based in Melbourne. We provide reliable linen hire, commercial laundry, cleaning and delivery services to a range of hospitality businesses, including hotels and restaurants.
Our business relies on the efficient coordination of linen supply, inventory, laundry operations and distribution to ensure that our customers receive the correct products in the required quantities and within agreed delivery schedules.
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Supply and Distribution Manager to manage and coordinate our supply, inventory and distribution operations.
About the Role
The Supply and Distribution Manager will be responsible for planning, managing and coordinating the supply and distribution of linen and related products across our commercial laundry operations.
The successful candidate will oversee inventory requirements, supply planning and distribution activities while working closely with management, laundry operations, suppliers, drivers and other staff to ensure an efficient and reliable flow of products to our customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and coordinate the supply and distribution of commercial linen and related products to customers.
- Develop and implement supply, inventory and distribution procedures to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor linen inventory levels and ensure adequate stock is maintained to meet customer requirements.
- Forecast supply requirements based on customer demand, seasonal variations and business requirements.
- Coordinate the movement of linen between customer collection, laundry processing, storage and outgoing distribution.
- Plan and oversee delivery and distribution schedules to ensure customer requirements and agreed service timeframes are met.
- Liaise with laundry operations, drivers and other staff to coordinate daily supply and distribution priorities.
- Monitor stock shortages, damaged or lost linen, excess stock and inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate procurement and replenishment of linen and other operational supplies.
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, quality, availability and delivery requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Review distribution routes, schedules and processes to improve efficiency and service reliability.
- Analyse supply, inventory and distribution data to identify operational improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Establish and maintain effective inventory control and stock management procedures.
- Respond to changes in customer requirements, including fluctuations in linen volumes and urgent supply requirements.
- Plan supply and distribution requirements for new customers and increased service volumes.
- Monitor the performance of supply and distribution activities and implement improvements to systems and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate records relating to purchasing, stock movements, inventory and distribution activities.
- Prepare reports for management regarding supply levels, distribution performance, operational issues and resource requirements.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- A relevant Bachelor's degree in business, management, supply chain, logistics, commerce, finance or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in supply and distribution, logistics, operations or business management.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage inventory, supply requirements and distribution operations.
- Strong analytical and commercial decision-making skills.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers, operational staff and delivery personnel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment and manage competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate operational records.
- Experience within commercial laundry, linen hire, hospitality supply or a similar service-based industry will be highly regarded.
