Job Description
Ramsay Health Care is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Director of Finance to lead the financial strategy and performance of Ramsay Private Hospital, National Capital in Canberra. Having recently joined the Ramsay network, this is an exciting time to come on board and play a key role in shaping the hospital’s next chapter. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll partner closely with the executive, clinical and operational teams to drive financial performance, support the hospital’s integration into Ramsay and identify opportunities for sustainable growth. What You’ll Do
As Director of Finance, you’ll be a trusted financial and commercial partner to the CEO and hospital leadership team. You’ll provide insight that supports better decision-making while ensuring strong financial governance and performance.
Key responsibilities include:

Lead financial strategy, planning and performance across the hospital.

Support the integration of the Hospital into Ramsay’s financial and operational frameworks.

Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, efficiency and sustainable growth.

Partner with clinical and operational leaders to build financial capability and accountability, assisting with the operational decision-making process.

Oversee capital planning and support informed investment decisions.

Ensure strong financial governance, compliance and controls.

Partner with Ramsay’s corporate finance and shared-service teams.

Provide clear, commercially focused advice to the CEO and Executive Team.
What You’ll Bring
You’ll be an experienced finance leader with strong commercial acumen and the ability to operate as a genuine business partner. You’ll be comfortable working in a complex environment, influencing senior stakeholders and translating financial insights into practical business outcomes.
You will bring:

A professional qualification in accounting or finance, with CPA or CA highly regarded.

Strong experience across financial management, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

Proven commercial capability and experience improving business performance.

Experience partnering with senior operational and clinical stakeholders.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.

Experience working through change, transformation or organisational integration.

Ramsay Private Hospital, National Capital is a leading private healthcare facility providing a broad range of acute and specialist services to patients across the ACT and surrounding regions, including southern NSW, the NSW South Coast and the Riverina.
