About us:
The Physiotherapy Service at Cairns Hospital is a large and progressive regional service comprising approximately 72 Physiotherapy and Allied Health Assistant positions across Cairns Hospital, Oregon Street Campus and Gordonvale Memorial Hospital. We provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care across a broad range of specialties, including medical, surgical, emergency, critical care, rehabilitation, orthopaedics, oncology, paediatrics, women's health, neurology, aged care and cardiovascular services, supporting communities across Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS), as well as Cape York and the Torres Strait.

The service has a strong research culture, supports staff participation in higher degree studies and project work, and offers opportunities to work within advanced and extended scope models of care, including primary contact outpatient clinics, pelvic health services, Emergency Department physiotherapy and prescribing initiatives, and innovative service delivery models.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will....
Deliver entry-level Physiotherapy clinical services as rostered within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, including the provision of after hour services, shift work and weekend services if required by the service.
As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision of a more senior Physiotherapist.
Manage an appropriate caseload using high level time management and prioritisation skills, including clinical and non-clinical responsibilities and the maintenance of accurate patient records and documentation.
Commit to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by actively participating in safety and quality practices.
Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
