This is a unique opportunity for an exercise physiologist (AEP) with knowledge and experience of working with older people to join a clinical research trial which aims to reduce risk of developing dementia. Experience or an interest in cognitive health is highly valued as you will be counselling people with a mild level of memory or thinking concerns.
This research is investigating the effectiveness of an online intervention for people with mild cognitive impairment or subjective cognitive decline. Part of the trial involves education and goal setting to improve risk factors associated with cognitive health.
The AEP will facilitate tele-health sessions, aiming to support goal setting and lifestyle change, using physical activity to reduce risk factors for developing dementia.
In line with research practice, the AEP will also be expected to follow standardised procedures, and conduct some research data collection, whilst also being able to respond to the individual experiences of participants. Successful candidates will be required to complete mandatory training, including Research Integrity, Ethics training and trial protocol training.
The role commences from late August 2026, including training on the research protocols, and is required until 20 December 2027. New graduates are welcome to apply.
