Larder & Prep Cook – Summer Position
SPK Kiosk & Bar is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Larder & Prep Cook to join our kitchen team for the upcoming summer season.
Located right on the water in Mornington, SPK is a busy, fast-paced venue that gets especially lively over the warmer months. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a high-volume kitchen, takes pride in their prep and presentation, and can jump between prep and larder as needed.
The Role
This is a great opportunity for a cook looking for summer work, with the potential for ongoing hours for the right person.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing ingredients and completing daily kitchen prep
- Preparing salads, cold dishes, sauces and garnishes
- Assisting with plating and presentation
- Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked section
- Following food safety and hygiene standards
- Working efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team
- Assisting other sections when required
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a prep, larder or kitchen role
- Is confident working in a fast-paced environment
- Has good knife skills and attention to detail
- Takes pride in cleanliness, organisation and presentation
- Is reliable, punctual and has a positive attitude
- Can work independently while also being a team player
- Is available to work throughout the summer period, including weekends and busy holiday periods
A qualification in commercial cookery is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. We’re happy to consider cooks with relevant kitchen experience who are keen to learn and develop.
