Live & Learn Environmental Education is an international not-for-profit organisation working across the Asia-Pacific region to empower communities facing environmental and development challenges. We support communities to build climate resilience, strengthen sustainable living whilst protecting the natural environment. As our programs continue to grow, we are looking for an experience Finance & Administration Officer to join our finance team in Melbourne.
The Role
Working closely with the Finance Director, the Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the finance function. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Responsibilities include:
- Process supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, journals and financial transactions;
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple projects and funding sources;
- Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations;
- Support month-end and year-end financial reporting;
- Assist with audit preparation and donor compliance requirements;
- Provide responsive finance support to staff across Australia and international country offices; and
- Contribute to improving finance systems, processes and reporting.

You take pride in producing high-quality support to others, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team towards meaningful outcomes. You're equally comfortable processing day-to-day transactions as you are identifying ways to improve systems and processes. You'll bring a strong customer service mindset and a genuine commitment to supporting organisational success.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping or equivalent qualifications and/or experience
- Experience in bookkeeping, finance administration or similar
- Experience using MYOB or other accounting software
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial record management
- Experience in an international not-for-profit or NGO handling multiple currencies
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality and continuous improvement.
