Location: Parramatta & McKell - Hybrid opportunity. In-office requirement 2-3 days a week as a minimum, which could be subject to change based on applicable DCS workplace policies.

About the team
Government Shared Services (GSS) is a new division in DCS that is leading the way in streamlining processes and transactional shared services to allow our people to better focus on their customers and delivering their services.
We are developing and delivering a roadmap to leverage technology, streamline processes, replace legacy systems and deliver a consistent experience to more than 100+ agencies across 8 NSW Government Departments.
What you will do
- Ensure that shared infrastructure cloud platform delivers sustainable value to both internal and external customers while shaping the future of cloud service delivery, driving efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Define and drive the strategic direction of the cloud infrastructure platform across a multi-cloud, multi vendor technology environment, ensuring a clear product vision and roadmap and alignment with business and customer needs.
- Lead the full lifecycle of cloud services, transforming how cloud services are delivered from ideation and deployment to operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning, maintaining a comprehensive service catalogue, establishing proper governance frameworks and ensuring all services meet rigorous security and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to design, build, and maintain standardized cloud services with appropriate security, compliance, governance and operational guardrails.
- Lead and develop strong relationships with internal and external customers to understand requirements and ensure the platform delivers maximum value.
- Lead and oversee platform operations, incident management, and service resilience, minimizing downtime and ensuring stability through proactive monitoring and automation.
- Drive automation initiatives, optimize platform efficiency, and reduce technical debt to improve scalability, security, and performance.
- Lead and provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the platform engineering team, fostering a culture of autonomy, innovation, and continuous improvement.
About You
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong capabilities in:
- Ensure that shared infrastructure platform delivers sustainable value to both internal and external customers while shaping the future of cloud service delivery, driving efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Define and drive the strategic direction of the cloud infrastructure platform across AWS and Azure, ensuring a clear product vision and roadmap and alignment with business and customer needs.
- Lead the full lifecycle of cloud services, transforming how cloud services are delivered from ideation and deployment to operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning, maintaining a comprehensive service catalog, establishing proper governance frameworks and ensuring all services meet rigorous security and compliance standards.

- Lead and develop strong relationships with internal and external customers as well as our technology partners in order to understand requirements and ensure the platform delivers maximum value.
