SPYDER MOTORS PTY LTD is currently seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to support our automotive parts, vehicle servicing, and repair operations across NSW and WA.
This is a full-time position, where you will work as part of a supportive and multidisciplinary team.
Position: Motor Mechanic – Full-Time
Salary: A$90,000 – A$98,000 per annum plus superannuation

What We Are Looking For
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant motor mechanic experience
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport preferred
- Ability to operate automotive diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, and mechanical diagrams
- Good physical fitness, stamina, and strength
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicles using suitable diagnostic equipment and testing tools.
- Identify faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking systems, and other mechanical components.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, suspension components, and other vehicle parts as required.
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer requirements and specifications.
- Reassemble engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems following repair and maintenance work.
- Carry out scheduled servicing and routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication, and engine tune-ups.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain braking, steering, suspension, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems.
- Test and adjust repaired components to ensure correct operation, safety, reliability, and performance.
- Conduct road tests and post-repair inspections to confirm that identified vehicle faults have been properly rectified.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, vehicle hoists, diagnostic scanners, and workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, diagnostic results, completed repairs, parts used, and servicing work performed.
- Estimate the parts, materials, labour, and time required for vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, parts suppliers, and other team members regarding vehicle conditions and required repairs.
- Assist with supervising and coordinating apprentices, junior mechanics, and other workshop staff when required.
- Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment throughout and following completion of work.
- Troubleshoot and resolve vehicle repair and workshop issues efficiently to help ensure work is completed within required timeframes.
