Aussie Switchboards is one of Queensland's leading switchboard manufacturers, and we're looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead our fabrication department.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while developing a skilled team.
About the Role
You will lead a team operating our fabrication equipment, including:
- CNC Turret/Laser
- CNC Press Brakes
- MIG & TIG Welding
- Assembly and General Fabrication
You'll work closely with Engineering, Powder Coating, Electrical, and Dispatch to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the fabrication team.
- Plan daily workflow and allocate labour efficiently.
- Ensure production targets and delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship.
- Drive a strong safety culture throughout the department.
- Train apprentices and upskill team members.
- Improve workshop efficiency and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Monitor machine utilisation and minimise downtime.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and operators follow procedures.
- Promote accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Trade qualification in Sheet Metal or Fabrication.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a fabrication team.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CNC turret, laser and press brake operations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
