The Opportunity
The Senior Project Coordinator will manage and drive the delivery and expansion of the Prematurity’s Effects on the Lungs in Children and Adults Network (PELICAN) Clinical Research Collaboration (CRC), a global research network focused on prematurity-associated lung disease.
This position will lead the global coordination of the PELICAN CRC and is responsible for the effective project execution by managing day‑to‑day operations as well as the delivery of advocacy initiatives and knowledge‑translation activities. You will foster inclusive collaboration across the international network and work closely with project leads, researchers, and global partners.
The Senior Project Coordinator drives communication, stakeholder engagement, and project governance to ensure PELICAN achieves its strategic objectives and delivers high‑quality, impactful outcomes for paediatric lung health research.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor project milestones, risks, and dependencies, and support implementation of strategies to maintain project momentum.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and communications with collaborators, including international stakeholders and professional societies.
- Ensure all program activities align with ethical, regulatory and governance standards.
- Support and coordinate the advocacy for recognition of prematurity-associated lung disease globally.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, action logs, and tracking documents to support effective project oversight.
Based at our offices in Nedlands, this part-time role (0.4-0.6 FTE) is offered on a fixed term of 2 years.
About You
The successful applicant will hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as public health, policy, social sciences, project management, or a related discipline. You will also demonstrate:
- Experience coordinating complex, multi-site or international projects, including delivering to timelines and managing competing priorities.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to adapt to change and contribute effectively to team goals.
- Experience working within government, non-profit, academic, or research environments.
- Experience supporting and coordinating collaborative research initiatives, including administrative coordination and documentation management.
- Ability to translate complex scientific information into accessible formats for diverse audiences, including clinicians, patients, and policymakers.
