We’re seeking a highly experienced and motivated Compliance Manager to join our Compliance Team, playing a key role in maintaining, enhancing and embedding the compliance framework across Greenstone Financial Services. This is a broad, end-to-end compliance role with responsibility for overseeing several of the Group’s core compliance functions, providing trusted advice to the business and supporting the effective management of regulatory and operational compliance risk.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing authoritative compliance advice, guidance and sign-off on complex operational matters, including compliance obligations, frameworks, policies and controls
- Leading the assessment and management of compliance incidents and potential breaches, including matters identified through quality assurance and monitoring activities
- Conducting detailed reviews and analysis of quality assurance, complaints and disputes data to identify potential incidents, systemic issues and emerging compliance risks
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to investigate incidents, address control gaps and ensure corrective actions are appropriate, sustainable and completed within agreed timeframes
- Leading or overseeing remediation activities and other compliance-related programs of work, ensuring regulatory obligations and intended customer outcomes are achieved
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen the compliance framework, monitoring practices and the effectiveness of business controls
- Working closely with the Risk Team to ensure control records, obligations and related documentation remain accurate, complete and current
- Preparing clear and concise reporting on compliance incidents, trends and emerging risks for senior management and relevant governance forums
What are we looking for?
- A minimum of five years’ relevant experience in financial services compliance, ideally within life insurance or another highly regulated environment
- Relevant industry qualifications, including RG146 compliance in life insurance
- Strong knowledge of financial services laws, regulatory obligations and industry standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them to complex operational matters
- Demonstrated experience managing compliance incidents, breach assessments, remediation activities and control improvements
- Experience providing compliance advice and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders and business leaders
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify trends, systemic issues and emerging risks from multiple sources of operational data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing high-quality reports and recommendations for senior management or governance forums
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business
- A proactive and accountable self-starter who can manage competing priorities, lead defined programs of work and deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal direction
