The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide critical support to the Reintegration and Engagement Services Division.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria (CV) operates Victoria's adult corrections system. It ensures people in our custody are safely and securely managed and works to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of their offending behaviour.
The Reintegration and Engagement Services Division forms part of Corrections Victoria and is responsible for delivering evidence-based, best practice interventions that contribute to reducing reoffending and improving community safety. This includes quality assurance systems for risk assessment and case management, the delivery of clinical intervention programs and transition and reintegration supports. The Division also has responsibility for the operation of Victoria's post-sentence scheme - a civil, non-punitive scheme that provides for the ongoing supervision or detention of individuals convicted of a serious sex and/or violent offence who have completed their sentence but present an unacceptable risk of committing further serious offences.
About the Role
The Senior Projects Manager reports to the Deputy Commissioner, Reintegration and Engagement Services and supports this role by providing strategic support and advice. The role is diverse in scope covering coordination of corporate functions, high level advice on projects/issues and leads projects on an as needs basis and as determined by Corrections Victoria's priorities. The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement, provide strategic advice and deliver effective and timely actions.
Some of your duties will include:
- Provide high quality, authoritative and strategic advice to, and on behalf of, the Deputy Commissioner, Reintegration and Engagement Services on complex and sensitive issues.
- Lead operational and strategic projects relating to the responsibilities of the Reintegration and Engagement Services Division.
- Prepare briefing papers, complex correspondence and proposals on a range of issues in a time-pressured environment for the Deputy Commissioner, senior departmental personnel and the Government.
