About the Opportunity
The Student Experience Officer plays a key role in the planning and delivery of a diverse range of on-campus and community-based events, programs and initiatives that foster meaningful connections between international students, domestic students and the wider community.
A core responsibility of the position is supporting the recruitment, training and ongoing development of students participating in the Griffith Mates program throughout the academic year. Griffith Mates consists of current Griffith University students engaged in a variety of volunteer and paid opportunities designed to enhance their skills, leadership capabilities and professional development.
Key responsibilities

Plan, deliver and evaluate on-campus, off-campus and virtual events, programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience and promote meaningful connections between domestic and international students, and the wider community.

Promote and support the Griffith Mates program, implementing engagement strategies that increase student awareness, participation and involvement.

Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, training and development of Griffith Mates participants, ensuring students are equipped to undertake work-integrated learning, volunteer and paid employment opportunities.

Provide ongoing guidance, mentoring and support to Griffith Mates students, fostering engagement, professional development and positive program outcomes.

Coordinate and support students in volunteer and paid roles, ensuring they understand their responsibilities, have access to appropriate resources and operate in accordance with University requirements.

Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify and deliver student engagement, community participation and experiential learning opportunities.

Monitor, evaluate and report on program performance and participation, using feedback and data to support continuous improvement.

Ensure all events, programs and activities are delivered in accordance with University policies, risk management requirements and relevant legislative obligations.
About you

The occupant of this position will hold a relevant degree, diploma or certificate with related work experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
What we can offer
This is a full time, fixed term opportunity until March 2027 primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site university, you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary
HEW 4 – Base range - $76,126.29 - $80,321.54 + 17% superannuation. Full package range - $89,067.75 - $93,976.19.
