Greencross Vets Fairy Meadow is looking for an experienced and passionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis (minimum 20 hours per week) for a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave contract.

About the Role
This is a part-time position (minimum 20 hours per week) offered as a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave contract.
The role combines both veterinary nursing and reception responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of patient and client care.
Veterinary Nursing Duties

Assisting veterinarians during consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures

Preparing patients for surgery and assisting in theatre
-
Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting patient recovery

Administering medications and treatments
-
Collecting blood and pathology samples
-
Performing diagnostic testing
-
Providing hospital and inpatient nursing care
-
Supporting emergency and critical care cases when required
-
Assisting with dental procedures and patient care
-
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control
Reception & Client Care Duties

Greeting clients and patients on arrival
-
Managing appointments and admissions
-
Answering phones and responding to client enquiries
-
Processing payments and client accounts
-
Supporting client communication and education
-
Managing emails and administrative tasks
-
Providing a welcoming and professional client experience

About You
We're looking for someone who:

Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification

Has a minimum of 2+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience

Is confident across both medical and surgical nursing

Has strong anaesthetic monitoring skills
-
Demonstrates excellent animal handling abilities
-
Enjoys both patient care and client-facing reception duties
-
Has excellent organisational and time management skills
-
Communicates confidently and professionally with clients and colleagues
-
Is calm, friendly, empathetic, and professional
-
Has experience with RxWorks (desirable but not essential)
