The Role
Under general direction the Education Officer will assist in the development and delivery of outreach programs to schools including web based digital learning resources, virtual excursions, and the Memorial Box program. Administration tasks include bookings, rostering and scheduling, Memorial Box freight and maintenance, and appropriate reporting as required. In addition, the officer will contribute to the onsite delivery and coordination of Education and Public Programs.
This role requires manual handling and movement of a variety of items, including but not limited to Memorial Boxes.
Core Responsibilities
Under general direction as a member of a team or as project co-ordinator, perform a range of tasks, including:

Coordinate the administration and forward planning of the national Memorial Box program including bookings, freight, regular maintenance and contents audits, and liaison with state agents and stakeholders, collating accurate reporting data as required.

Assist in the development, delivery, and administration of learning resources and virtual excursions with content aligned to the Australian Curriculum, and including the Memorial’s Collection.

Contribute to Education, and Public Program development and delivery as required, including research, writing, and stakeholder liaison and engagement.

Contribute to the training and supervision of casual staff as required.
Position Eligibility
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
