Heidelberg (New 100-Place Centre Opening)
We are excited to be opening a brand-new 100-place Montessori Academy centre in Heidelberg, VIC, featuring 6 purpose-designed Montessori classrooms.
This state-of-the-art early learning environment has been designed to deliver high-quality Montessori education across all age groups, with carefully prepared indoor learning spaces and engaging outdoor environments that support independence, exploration, and holistic development.
The centre will feature:
- 6 Montessori classrooms designed for mixed-age learning
- Purpose-built learning environments with authentic Montessori materials
- Expansive outdoor play spaces designed for physical development, creativity, and nature-based exploration
The Role
As a Nominated Supervisor, you will lead the daily operations of this new 100-place service, ensuring excellence in education, care, compliance, and leadership from day one.
You will guide, support, and supervise educators, staff, and volunteers to ensure all practice aligns with the service philosophy, policies and procedures, the National Quality Framework (NQF), and National Quality Standard (NQS).
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the establishment and daily operation of a new 100-place centre
- Acting as Responsible Person In Charge (RPIC) on site
- Ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children, families, and staff
- Leading and supporting educators in the EYLF and Montessori curriculum
- Driving high-quality practice and continuous improvement from opening
- Overseeing compliance, documentation, and operational systems
- Building strong relationships with families and the local Heidelberg community
- Supporting occupancy growth and successful centre establishment
Key Competencies
- Strong understanding of early childhood legislation, compliance, and regulations
- Leadership, mentoring, and team development capability
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong operational and organisational management skills
- Ability to lead a brand-new service environment
- Strong family engagement and communication ability
- Curriculum planning and educational leadership experience
- Understanding and application of the Montessori philosophy
- Passion for high-quality early childhood education
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience managing a childcare service
- Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA approved) or working towards
- Current Working With Children Check
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework including:
- National Quality Standards (NQS)
- National Regulations
- Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Ability to work rotating shifts between 7:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday
