Primary objective
Lead the management, development, and implementation of high-level administrative support and logistics for the Domestic,
Family and Sexual Violence work unit.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Take leadership of and be responsible for administrative tasks for the work unit including but not limited to human
resources, finance, record keeping, travel, logistics and Secretariat functions.
2. Act as a proactive liaison point for the work unit between central agency supports and other stakeholders to ensure clear
processes and communication are in place.
3. Develop, manage and maintain accurate records of the various staffing and administrative needs of the work unit.
4. Provide advice to leadership on administrative and support functions of the work unit that prioritises timely, structured
and accurate processing of tasks.
5. Work closely with the work unit members and government and non-government partners through clear, timely and
accurate communication while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
6. Assist the smooth functioning of the work unit as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Analytical and research skills with demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and introduce innovative work practices,
particularly in a fast-paced setting.
2. Demonstrated ability to work flexibly under pressure whilst meeting tight timeframes and managing conflicting priorities
and deadlines.
3. Sound understanding of human resources, fiscal and related administration and secretariat functions and how to apply
them to support work unit functioning.
4. Demonstrated understanding of the principles of confidentiality and privacy and their application within the public sector
workplace.
5. Highly developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide
range of people and groups.
6. Demonstrated experience in, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge in, using electronic systems such as Personnel
Information and Payroll System (PIPS), MyHR, eRecruit, TRIM or similar.
7. Ability to work as a member of a team and to independently achieve goals and tasks.
8. Current Northern Territory Driver’s Licence or ability to obtain.
Desirable
1. Certificate III in Business, equivalent or higher.
