One of our clients (Australian Government Department) is seeking to engage a Senior Cyber Security Governance Analyst as a contractor for a period of 12 months with a 12-month optional extension.
This role will support the cyber security GRC activities for our client’s resilience uplift program and will report to the Department's Cyber Security.
Location: ACT
Working Arrangement: Onsite (Full time onsite. Temporary work from home arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.)
Contract Duration: 12 months + 12 month extension option
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1)
Maximum Hours: 45 hours per week
Estimated Start date: 1 September 2026
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- The role will be responsible for various cyber functions, including but not limited to:
- Contributing to solution design for security considerations;
- Review and provide recommendations to develop security requirements;
- Develop communications and documentation for senior executive decision-making;
- Support the coordination of security assurance processes including IRAP and penetration testing;
- Lead the development of formal security documentation.
Essential criteria
- Demonstrated experience performing in a cyber security governance, risk and compliance (GRC) role
- Knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual, Protective Security Policy Framework and Essential Eight
- Experience managing stakeholder or client interactions to achieve security and GRC outcomes
- Experience developing cyber security GRC documentation, including formal security documentation for senior executive decision-making
- Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance
Desirable criteria
- Experience coordinating security assurance processes such as IRAP assessments and penetration testing
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related cyber security or GRC roles
Pay: $130.00 – $150.00 per hour
