Job Advertisement – Casual Pet Carer
Clyde River Pet Lodge is a professional boarding facility providing a safe, caring and friendly environment for dogs, cats and other companion animals. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Casual Pet Carer to join our small team. This role suits someone who is confident working with animals, enjoys practical hands-on work and can maintain a calm, professional approach in a busy environment.
Duties would include
· Caring for pets boarding with us – feeding, bathing, grooming, enrichment
· Cleaning and upkeep of facility to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety
· General animal husbandry
· Supervising dogs and managing their behaviours to maintain overall wellbeing and safety
· Providing exercise and enrichment to pets
· Providing a confident and friendly service to pet owners
Selection criteria:
· Animal care or veterinary nursing qualifications or experience are preferred but not essential.
· Confidence handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments, as well as cats.
· A professional, motivated and friendly attitude when working with clients, animals and team members.
· Physically fit and able to work long days on your feet in a busy environment, including regular cleaning of facilities and animal pens.
· Reliable, punctual and able to work independently when required.
· Own transport, due to the location of the role and early morning starts.
· Excellent communication skills, including the ability to greet clients professionally and provide clear daily feedback about their pets.
· Competent in using computer systems, including email, booking platforms, phone enquiries and preparation of client documents.
· Local applicants are preferred due to the early start times required.
