About the role
As our Community Engagement Specialist, you'll take a commercial approach to growing the reach and impact of our Carer Gateway program, ensuring we're connected with carers who need our support most. Leveraging your existing professional networks and your ability to build meaningful relationships, you'll identify opportunities that increase awareness, referrals and engagement across corporate, government, healthcare and community sectors.
You'll bring curiosity, confidence and initiative to uncover new referral pathways, expand our reach and develop strategic partnerships that position Carer Gateway as a trusted support service. Through your ability to influence, engage and educate stakeholders, you'll help more carers access free information, counselling, coaching and practical assistance.
Key areas of responsibility

Grow awareness and referrals to Carer Gateway by leveraging existing networks and developing new partnerships across corporate, government, health and community sectors.

Identify and pursue new opportunities to engage organisations that can connect carers with our services.

Travel across Sydney to develop and maintain partnerships, engage with stakeholders, and represent Carer Gateway at meetings, events, and community initiatives.

Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted ambassador for the program across referral networks and partner organisations.

Deliver engaging presentations and information sessions organisations and community groups.

Distribute promotional resources that increase awareness of Carer Gateway across partner organisations and referral channels.

Manage your own schedule, prioritise activities and work autonomously to achieve partnership and engagement outcomes.

Ensure services are person‑centred, connected, effective, and safe.
Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, business development, account management or a similar relationship-focused role.

An established professional network and the ability to leverage existing relationships while confidently creating new ones.

Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills, with a polished and professional approach to engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing your workload while contributing to shared goals.

Strong communication and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced outreach environment.

Flexibility to work across multiple locations, including our Hurstville office and outreach areas across North & Central Sydney.
- Qualifications in community services, business, marketing or related areas and/or equivalent experience with transferable skills.
Please note: Occasional weekend/after-hours work may be required for pre-planned events.
