In this hands-on leadership role, you will coordinate and lead arboricultural crews undertaking tree maintenance, pruning and removal works across the City. You will promote a strong safety culture, ensure best-practice arboriculture, and support the efficient delivery of work programs.
Role accountabilities include:
- Lead and support Arboricultural Services crews to deliver high-quality tree pruning, maintenance and removal works across the City.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture that values safety, professionalism and exceptional service to the community.
- Champion workplace health and safety by promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance arboricultural practices, operational efficiency and the long-term management of the City’s tree assets.
- Coordinate with contractors, stakeholders and the public to deliver proactive and responsive arboricultural services while maintaining strong community relationships.

You will hold a Certificate III in Arboriculture (or equivalent) and have demonstrated experience in all aspects of tree pruning and removal, including tree climbing and working from Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs). You will bring extensive knowledge of arboricultural practices, tree maintenance and safe work methods, together with proven experience leading and supporting teams to deliver high-quality outcomes safely and efficiently.
With experience working across a range of environments, including bushland, parks, streetscapes, reserves and other high-profile public spaces, you can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on quality service delivery. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, stakeholders and the community, ensuring a coordinated and professional approach to arboricultural services building positive working relationships and contributing to a strong culture of safety, respect and continuous improvement.
