About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Automotive Electrician to join our growing technical team specialising in Electric Vehicle (EV) battery systems and high-voltage electrical technologies.
This role focuses on EV battery system servicing, diagnostics, and replacement activities carried out under fully de-energised and safe working conditions.
This position may require occasional interstate or site travel within Australia depending on project needs. Travel frequency is expected to be low and will be scheduled in advance where possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform EV battery system inspection and fault diagnosis on de-energised high-voltage systems
- Carry out safe high-voltage isolation procedures (MSD removal / depower / reinitialization)
- Conduct low-voltage electrical diagnostics and fault finding
- Retrieve and analyse battery system data (BMS / CAN communication)
- Use diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting
- Perform EV battery pack removal and installation
- Complete technical service reports and documentation
- Follow WHS, SWMS, and LOTO safety procedures at all times
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional workshop environment
Requirements
Essential:
- NSW Automotive Electrician Tradesperson Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Strong experience in automotive electrical systems and diagnostics
- Strong English communication skills are also essential for daily operations, including safety documentation, reporting, and compliance activities
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to workplace safety procedures
- Current full (unrestricted) Australian Driver Licence
- Full working rights in Australia
Highly Regarded:
- Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles
- Exposure to high-voltage electrical systems
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Heavy vehicle electrical systems experience
- Industrial electrical work background
