We are seeking an experienced Property and Commercial Paralegal to join our dynamic and collaborative team. Working closely with our Senior Associates and solicitors, you will manage your own files with appropriate autonomy while contributing to the success of the Property and Commercial team and the firm as a whole. Responsibilities
- Manage residential and commercial conveyancing files from start to finish, building strong relationships with clients, real estate agents and referrers.
- Coordinate PEXA and paper settlements, including all post-settlement requirements.
- Prepare contracts, Seller Disclosure Statements, transfer documents and other legal documentation for property transfers, while also supporting our Wills and Estates team with real property dealings and transmissions.
- Prepare and assess transfer duty liabilities across all dutiable transaction types, maintaining detailed and compliant records and assisting with audit requirements as necessary.
- Assist with off-the-plan purchases, sales and development projects, acting for buyers and developers.
- Review lease documentation and provide practical advice and recommendations to landlords and tenants across a range of lease types.
- Prepare commercial and retail lease documents, amendments, variations and extensions across all Australian jurisdictions.
- Assist with commercial transactions, including business sales and purchases.
- Prepare and review commercial agreements and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate file records and ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and firm requirements.
- Comply with Broadley Rees Hogan's AML/CTF policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative and paralegal support across the firm as required, working collaboratively with both senior team members and junior staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of three years' experience as a Property and Commercial Paralegal.
- Demonstrated experience managing residential and commercial property matters with a high level of autonomy.
- Experience assisting with commercial transactions.
- Strong knowledge of Queensland conveyancing processes, property law concepts and application of relevant legislation.
- The ability to quickly learn and adopt new systems, technology and file management procedures.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
- Competent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A professional, client-focused approach, underpinned by integrity, sound judgement and strong interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships based on respect and trust.
- Proficiency in PEXA, QRO Online, DocuSign, My Agency Edge (Realworks) and legal practice management systems.
- Familiar with Lexon Conveyancing Precedent documents and packs.
