The Cathedral School is seeking a Production Director to lead the development and delivery of our school productions, working with students from audition through to final performance. Working alongside our dedicated Performing Arts team, you will guide the artistic vision of productions, coordinate a talented production crew, and help students develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a love of performing. About The Cathedral School
The Cathedral School is an Anglican co-educational school of approximately 1,200 students from Early Childhood through to Year 12, including a vibrant boarding community. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the artistic vision and direction of school productions.
- Coordinate and support a multidisciplinary production team.
- Manage auditions, casting processes and student participation.
- Develop rehearsal schedules and oversee production logistics.
- Work collaboratively with technical, costume, set design and creative teams.
- Ensure compliance with child safety, duty of care and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Assist with budget management, purchasing and production planning.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and engaging experience for students and families.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience directing school-aged productions, musical theatre and/or dramatic performances.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to motivate and engage young performers of varying abilities.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and competing timelines.
- A commitment to student wellbeing, safety and inclusive practices.
- Creativity, initiative and the ability to bring a compelling artistic vision to life.
- A current Blue Card (or ability to obtain one prior to commencement).
