Are you a recognised mechanical engineering leader looking to shape technical excellence across a global engineering business?
Mineral Technologies is seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership, governance and strategic direction across our Mechanical Engineering discipline. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of engineering standards, mentor and develop talented engineers, and influence the delivery of complex mineral processing projects around the world.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will act as the Mechanical Design Authority, ensuring technical quality, innovation and consistency across studies, detailed design and project delivery activities. While this is a leadership position, it remains a hands on technical role, with a significant focus on project delivery and solving complex engineering challenges.
You will work closely with project teams, discipline leaders, clients and industry partners to drive technical excellence, strengthen capability and support the continued growth of our Engineering and Projects business.
What We're Looking For
You are an accomplished engineering professional who is passionate about technical leadership, mentoring others and delivering high quality engineering outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- RPEQ registration and membership with a recognised professional engineering body
- More than 15 years post graduate experience, including extensive experience within mining, minerals processing or a related heavy industry
- Proven experience across the full project lifecycle including concept studies, feasibility studies, detailed design and project execution
- Extensive knowledge of wet mechanical and process plant design, including pumping systems, piping networks and slurry handling infrastructure
- Strong experience with mechanical equipment selection, technical evaluations and vendor management
- Demonstrated experience leading technical governance, design reviews, standards development and quality assurance processes
- Proven capability in developing engineers through mentoring, coaching and technical leadership
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence project teams, clients and industry partners
Experience in mineral sands, iron ore processing, modular plant design, construction and commissioning activities, or international project delivery will be highly regarded.
