About the Role:
Curtin University is seeking an experienced
Business Resilience Manager to join our Risk, Compliance and Audit team. In this strategically important role, you'll lead and strengthen the University's business continuity and resilience capability by providing expert advice, developing contemporary frameworks and plans, and supporting effective incident and crisis management across a complex and diverse organisation.
Working with senior leaders and stakeholders across the University, you'll help ensure Curtin is well prepared to respond to disruptions, protect critical operations and foster a culture of resilience and continuous improvement
.
Your responsibilities will include:
Reporting to the Associate Director Risk and Assurance, you'll operate with a high level of autonomy and provide specialist leadership across the University's business continuity and resilience management function
.
- Leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Curtin's business continuity and resilience frameworks, policies, procedures and critical incident response.
- Identifying potential business disruption risks and developing effective response and recovery strategies to minimise operational impact.
- Coordinating business continuity planning, exercising and testing programs to ensure organisational preparedness and continuous improvement.
- Providing strategic advice and expert guidance to senior leaders on business continuity, resilience, crisis management and incident response.
- Supporting the Curtin Executive during critical incidents and ensuring crisis management plans remain current and fit for purpose.
- Developing training programs, resources and awareness initiatives that strengthen resilience capability across the University.
- Establishing systems and processes to monitor, measure and report on business continuity and resilience activities, controls and performance.
- Building strong collaborative relationships across the University, including with Legal Services, Financial Services, People and Culture, Digital and Technology Solutions, and Properties, Facilities and Development, as well as external agencies and industry partners.
- Monitoring emerging risks, industry trends and better practice to continually enhance Curtin's resilience capability.
Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:
- Postgraduate qualifications combined with extensive experience in Emergency Response Management, Crisis Management, Disaster Management or Business Continuity Management.
- Demonstrated planning and management skills with the ability to provide strategic advice, develop options, analyse risks, make good judgements, and solve problems in the delivery of business outcomes for an organisation.
- Ability to negotiate and effectively simplify and articulate complex technical knowledge to a wide range of audiences.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience working within large, complex or geographically dispersed organisations, or environments with international operations, will be highly regarded.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered

This Continuous G08 level role attracts a remuneration of $119, 125 – $126,950 salary + 17% superannuation.
