POSITIONPURPOSE The Horticulture Farm Manager at Everest Harvesting Group Pty Ltd is responsible for the strategic planning, operational execution, and commercial performance of a diversified horticulture enterprise. This role owns the end-to-end production cycle from land preparation and planting to harvest and dispatch, ensuring that yield, quality, and profit margins meet or exceed board-approved targets while maintaining industry-leading safety and sustainability standards.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES&TASKS
Strategic & Financial Management BusinessPlanning: Develop and execute annual crop plans, operating budgets, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) proposals. Monitor monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
SupplyChain&Marketing:Engagewithcustomers, marketers, and logistics providers to align harvest windows with market demand.
PerformanceAnalysis: Use data-driven insights and farm management software to analyse production metrics and resource efficiency. Production & Asset Oversight
SystemsLeadership: Direct all production activities including irrigation scheduling, nutrition programs, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
QualityAssurance: Maintain rigorous compliance with Freshcare, GlobalGAP, and export specific quality standards.
Infrastructure Management: Overseethe maintenance and optimal utilization of farm machinery, irrigation infrastructure, and post-harvest facilities. People & Culture
WorkforceDevelopment:Recruit, roster, and lead a diverse, multi-skilled workforce. Manage seasonal labour requirements and ensure compliance with the Horticulture Award.
SafetyLeadership: Drive a "Zero Harm" safety culture. Ensure all staff are trained in WHS procedures, chemical handling, and equipment operation.
REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS&EDUCATION
PrimaryRequirement: ABachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Agricultural Science, or Agri Business.
Alternative Requirement: In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 5–8 years of documented senior leadership experience in a commercial horticultural environment.
TechnicalKnowledge: Advanced expertise in planthealth, soil science, irrigation technology, and financial cost-control.
