Disability Support Worker – Thallon QLD
- Regular Monday, Wednesday & Friday Shifts | Minimum 3-Hour Payment
Assigned Guardian Angel is seeking a compassionate, reliable and energetic Disability Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to a young female participant in Thallon, QLD.
This is an excellent opportunity for a local Support Worker looking for consistent weekday work, with a minimum 3-hour payment for shorter scheduled visits.

Current Support Schedule
Monday – Home Exercise Program
- 1 hour of direct participant support
- Minimum 3 hours paid
Wednesday – Physiotherapy Appointment
- Approximately 4.5 hours of support
- 4.5 hours paid
- Supporting the participant to attend her physiotherapy appointment
Friday – Home Exercise Program
- 1 hour of direct participant support
- Minimum 3 hours paid
Total: Approximately 10.5 paid hours per week
Please note: Monday and Friday currently require approximately 1 hour of direct participant support; however, AGA's minimum payment is 3 hours per shift.
About the Role
You will support a young female participant within her home and community, helping her maintain independence, participate in daily activities and safely access appointments and the community.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with personal care, including showering and daily living activities
- Supporting the participant with her home exercise program
- Supporting attendance at physiotherapy appointments
- Providing safe manual handling and transfer assistance
- Confidently assisting with a Sara Stedy
- Supporting community access and social participation
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Encouraging independence and participation in activities
- Building positive and respectful rapport with the participant
- Communicating professionally with the participant, family and AGA team
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, patient, caring and encouraging
- Reliable and available for the regular Monday, Wednesday and Friday shifts
- Comfortable providing female personal care, including showering assistance
- Experienced or confident with manual handling
- Confident using a Sara Stedy, or able to demonstrate relevant experience
- Able to build positive rapport with participants and their families
- Professional and respectful
- A clear and effective communicator
- Passionate about supporting people with disability to maintain their independence and quality of life
Requirements
Applicants should have, or be willing to obtain where applicable:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle, preferably suitable for community access
- Previous disability/support work experience is highly regarded
- Manual handling experience or training is desirable
- First Aid and CPR qualifications are highly regarded
