COMMODEX Pty Ltd is an Australian-based sourcing, supply chain and business consulting company supporting clients across domestic and international markets. In addition to its Australian operations, COMMODEX is involved in international business development and government-to-government (G2G) opportunities across markets including Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
The Role
The Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for developing and managing COMMODEX's sourcing and supply chain activities across Australia and international markets.
A key focus will be identifying and developing reliable supplier networks capable of supporting both private-sector commercial opportunities and large-scale government or institutional projects.
You will work across the full sourcing lifecycle, from understanding client requirements and conducting market research through to supplier identification, commercial evaluation, procurement planning, logistics coordination and delivery.
The role will also support COMMODEX's international business activities by coordinating with suppliers, clients, government representatives, consultants, logistics providers and other commercial partners across multiple jurisdictions.
You will help establish greater structure, transparency and commercial discipline across COMMODEX's sourcing activities, including supplier databases, procurement processes, pricing analysis, documentation, reporting and project tracking.
As the organisation grows, you will also contribute to the development of COMMODEX's broader international sourcing and supply chain strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage local and international supplier networks across commodity, industrial, infrastructure and commercial categories.
- Identify, assess and negotiate with manufacturers, producers, distributors and trading partners based on price, quality, capability, compliance and delivery requirements.
- Manage RFQ, RFP and tender processes, including supplier benchmarking, commercial evaluation and procurement recommendations.
- Coordinate sourcing, procurement, logistics and delivery requirements across domestic and international projects, including government and institutional opportunities.
- Review and reconcile supplier invoices, purchase orders, freight charges, customs costs and other project-related expenses.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, procurement budgets, cost forecasts and total landed-cost calculations, including freight, insurance, duties, taxes and handling charges.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including payment tracking, customer receipts, account reconciliations and follow-up of outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate supplier, transaction and financial records while providing management with clear reporting on project costs, supplier performance, margins and commercial outcomes.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
