Your new role:
The Executive Director Medical Services (EDMS), Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a key, highly strategic and critical role accountable for providing professional leadership for the PAH medical workforce. The role is accountable for the standard of clinical care and clinical performance across PAH and has key clinical oversight responsibility.
The role is a member of the PAH Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and provides expert advice to the Executive Director, PAH on the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical service performance in alignment with the PAH operational plan and the broader Metro South Health (MSH) strategic plan. Whilst accountable for the specific divisional portfolio, the EDMS will partner with relevant ELT members on the delivery of all clinical services across the PAH.
About you:
The Medical Services portfolio includes Medical Workforce Management, Medical Education Unit (including Community Library), Clinical Governance including accountability for Hospital accreditation and complaint management. The EDMS, PAH provides professional leadership for medical workforce planning, performance and optimisation. This includes the promotion of and engagement with new workforce models and fostering interdisciplinary teamwork in collaboration with the other PAH Professional leads. The portfolio is also directly accountable for the Statewide Services of the Queensland Tissue Bank (QTB) and DonateLife Services.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
