Oz Lotteries gives everyday Australians more chances to dream and win. We are one of Australia’s longest-running online lottery retailers, proudly Australian-owned and operating since 2005. As part of ASX-listed Jumbo Interactive Group, we serve a loyal player base through trusted access to commercial lotteries including Powerball and Oz Lotto, alongside charity lotteries.
We are looking for a commercially grounded General Manager to lead the Oz Lotteries business unit. This is an established digital consumer business with a clear operating model: the opportunity is to bring order, disciplined execution and accountable leadership as the business continues to grow and evolve.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer, you will own the day-to-day performance of Oz Lotteries across customer operations, financial operations, compliance and assurance, and marketing execution. You will turn Group direction into clear priorities, operating plans and measurable outcomes, while ensuring the business operates within its regulatory, contractual and Group obligations.
You will lead through functional leaders and external partners, balancing customer growth with sound controls, service quality, cost discipline and responsible operating practices.
What you will do
Lead the Oz Lotteries business unit, with accountability for operational performance, commercial outcomes, revenue and cost management, budgets and forecasts.
Translate annual and quarterly Group priorities into clear operating plans, ownership, targets and progress reporting.
Set service standards, align operational capacity to demand and improve workflow discipline across the business.
Grow the customer base and customer value within approved regulatory, partner and responsible-gambling obligations.
Lead customer operations, content, database marketing and lifecycle teams, holding leaders accountable for quality, performance and commercial contribution.
Direct marketing execution across lifecycle, content, acquisition and retention, including the management of agency partners and marketing suppliers.
Ensure the business has the right marketing technology capability, operating rhythm and direction to execute effectively.
Oversee compliance, operational risk, fraud and incident-management frameworks, including audit-ready evidence of adherence to legal, partner, Group and business-unit requirements.
Act as the senior internal authority on the operating boundaries, controls and obligations that apply to Oz Lotteries.
Track and report KPIs across acquisition, retention, customer operations, operating quality, compliance and cost efficiency, with clear analysis and recommendations for Group leadership.
Build leadership capability beneath the GM level, develop high-performing teams and maintain engagement through change.
Partner closely with Lottery Solutions, Insights & Analytics, Finance, People & Culture, Legal, charity lottery clients and partners.
What you will bring
Significant senior leadership experience in a regulated or contractually constrained consumer business, with accountability for business-unit performance, people leadership and commercial outcomes.
Experience leading a direct-to-consumer digital business or a comparable consumer business unit.
Demonstrated ownership of revenue and cost performance, budgeting, forecasting and KPI-led operating cadence.
Strong understanding of how acquisition, retention, lifecycle activity and customer value drive sustainable revenue in a digital consumer model.
Experience managing complex compliance, control, fraud, incident or assurance requirements in an audit-ready environment.
Sufficient marketing and commercial literacy to lead lifecycle/CRM, content, paid-media or agency relationships, whether or not there is a dedicated marketing leader beneath you.
Proven leadership of managers or functional leaders, with clear accountability for their performance and development.
A direct, organised and pragmatic leadership style, with a bias for documented process, clear ownership and consistent follow-through.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management capability within a Group, partner and supplier environment.
