Kindastar Early Learning Centre – Artarmon is looking for a friendly, organised and experienced Centre Cook / Chef to join our team.
Food is an important part of every child's day at Kindastar. We are looking for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious and delicious meals for young children and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen.
You will be part of a friendly and supportive team and work closely with our Centre Director and educators to support the health and wellbeing of the children in our care.
About the Role
As our Centre Cook / Chef, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing fresh, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks for children
- Planning age-appropriate menus that support children's nutritional needs
- Catering for allergies, intolerances, cultural requirements and individual dietary needs
- Managing food ordering, stock levels and kitchen supplies
- Maintaining required food safety, temperature and cleaning records
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably in childcare, school or a similar environment
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergy management
- An understanding of healthy eating and nutrition for young children
- A positive, reliable and friendly attitude
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
Desirable
- Recognised Cookery/Hospitality/Chef Qualifications
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- Previous experience preparing meals in an early childhood setting
